You could keep the "I" count lower, not that it is wrong, it just make
the review obviously - biased.
Keep in mind writing review is not going in full force with "I so hate this
I must 'review' it!" nor "This one so roxxor not reviewing is
blasphemy!". Nothing could be more satisfying than giving extreme rating
right after delivering the finishing blow. Feels good eh? Feels like thousands
has been "saved" from this crap series, or in other case by giving
near perfect score, the "good news" has been delivered to the poor
souls? What shallow mentality, as if everything is black and white, best or
worst, brilliant or just mind-numbingly painful. If this is the mentally you
carry when writing 'reviews' consider posting them in the forum not in the
review section, you'll probably get more attention out of your rant there. We
don't need any more 'reviews' littered with personal slurs.
Its not everyday we get someone with the guts giving "excellent" in a
review. Wow, well done. I really liked this series and did introduced it to some
friends(naruto-tard), only to be branded sissy-boy. Well whatever. The point is,
while the review is stating the genuine uumph factor, it was presented in way
that someone might actually be convinced and want to give it a try, which I
doubt I can. I personally think that anyone should give this a chance and see
for themselves. The charm lies on its elite characters and the haunting music
scores. I enjoyed it.
da capo is mostly as described in the review. the episodes are unrelated
especially the earlier episodes and there is hardly any story until you are
through half way. the catman side stories are weird, full of silence, and felt
even longer than the actual plot. i didn't understand it at all.
in my opinion, what makes da capo worth watching is the music, characters, and
comedy. da capo has a favorable list of soundtracks, not lively or catchy but
soft and very instrumental. i even decided to play a few with my classical
guitar.
the romance is not something to talk about and the sudden switch from comedy
into the depressing dark side of the story is just too sudden. i found myself a
little late to "adjust".
if you are into this kind of anime and haven't seen it yet, da capo is a fun
series and might give you a couple of laugthers. it is easy to side with any one
of the girls and (most probably) be ruined later.
the review is good, but not quite as it is. more like a comparison than an anime
review, and little bit of disappointment and biased.
yes the manga is better, i personally agree with that. however, the anime has
its own qualities lacking in the manga. we got to hear mitsuki sing, see her
live performances, and actually follow her struggles as a singer. the anime is
different for having its own plot, and it deserves an independent review not
subjected to the manga.
(at first i do notice the deviation, but after seeing it through the end, i am
surprised the anime manage to pull an entirely different story. i really
appreciate that.)
you mention about filler episodes in your review that actually are not fillers.
those are the anime's original plot that shows mitsuki's development as a singer
and entirely leads a non-manga ending. fillers should be more like the
"sumo guy" episode in kenshin or the weird epsiodes in naruto, or dbz,
you got the idea.
no offense, i do think your review is a good comparison and fair. cheers.
